full Microsoft® Office® Suite, plus Corel® WordPerfect®,
Lotus® Notes®, and virtually all other Windows®-based applications.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking® 10 voice recognition software enables users
to work faster and more efficiently than ever before. Users can create

Version 11 brings together the best Dragon NaturallySpeaking® text-to-speech
and speech recognition technology to create the most accurate, easiest-to-use,
powerful speech recognition software ever! In addition to assisting users
to operate a computer hands-free, the software contains many new features
and general improvements.
More Accurate Than Ever Before
With a 20% increase in accuracy, Dragon NaturallySpeaking® 11 is up
to 99% accurate and frequently more accurate than typing. The model now
includes "quad-grams" as well as bi-gram and tri-gram algorithms.
Increased vocabulary size. New Acoustic Algorithms: PASS (PelAudio Acoustic
Scale Score) takes phonetic elements and applies statistical and algorithm
transformations to deliverer higher accuracy. Continuous adaptation of
acoustic information while dictating.
Faster Than Typing
Most people speak over 160 words per minute, but type less than 40 words
a minute. That means you can create documents and e-mails three times
faster with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10. The results are higher productivity,
less reliance on support staff, and lower costs.
Safer Than Typing
Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 will help protect people from repetitive stress
injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome.
Network Ready
Install and manage Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 Professional from a central
network location. You can access your unique Dragon NaturallySpeaking
11 Professional "profile" from any PC on your organization's
local area network.
Dictate on the Move.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking will also integrate with Digital
Dictation Machines enabling you to transcribe your recordings yourself
on return to the office. It's easy to have Dragon NaturallySpeaking voice
recognition software automatically transcribe recorded dictations recorded
on a digital recorder when you synchronise with your PC. Dragon NaturallySpeaking
11 now supports handheld digital recorders and other PDAs that record
in .wav, .wma and .mp3 format for deferred transcription. Auto Transcribe
folder for .wav files.
Bluetooth Wireless Microphone Support.
With Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11, you can use an appropriate Bluetooth
microphone as an input device, meaning you are no longer tethered to your
PC.
With the addition of a Digital Dictation Recorder, you could:
- Dictate directly into any Windows application, including Microsoft
Word, Microsoft Outlook etc using the headset microphone and Dragon
voice recognition software, speaking at 120-140 words per minute and
see the words appear on the screen.
- Dictate into a digital recorder and download recorded files on to
your PC. Use Dragon NaturallySpeaking ® to transcribe the recorded
files directly into e-mail and MS Word etc.
- Dictate into the Olympus DS-4000 digital recorder and download or
e-mail recorded files to your secretary/PA's PC loaded with Dragon NaturallySpeaking
and author's sound file. Leaving your secretary/PA to complete transcription
with the aid of Dragon NaturallySpeaking ® voice recognition software,
vastly reducing the need to type and saving considerable time in the
process!!

FAQs
Which
version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking® is correct for me?
Click
here to see a pop-up chart of the differences between the different
versions. If you are in doubt we would be happy to advise you.
What
are the PC and notebook system specifications for Dragon NaturallySpeaking®?
We
recommend a minimum of Pentium 4 processor (or AMD equivalent) of 2.8GHz
or above, 1Gb of RAM, an approved Sound Card, and CD-ROM. The Emkay
headset will offer the best recognition in most circumstances and
can be used with the Buddy
USB 3G if the onboard sound system is not adequate.
Which
sound cards are compatible with Dragon NaturallySpeaking®?
Creative®
Labs SoundBlaster® Live, Player and Platinum (card only) or the Audigi
Player (MP3) are the only cards we recommend although most soundcards
will offer adequate recognition. Some built-in sound chips may not suitable,
even though they claim to be SoundBlaster® compatible. Must support
11,025Hz mono, 16-bit sound recording. An alternative is a USB sound system.
How
do I test my soundcard?
A
simple way to test the sound card, USB system or microphone is to make
a CD-Quality recording using the Windows Sound Recorder. If the playback
has significant electronic noise, you will not get good recognition with
Dragon NaturallySpeaking®.
- Go to Sound Recorder (Start | Programs | Accessories | Entertainment
| Sound Recorder). Click File | Properties. If Audio Format does not
say "PCM 11.025kHz 16bit mono" click Convert Now, and select
"CD-Quality" under Name. Click OK. Click the Red button and
start dictation. The on/mute switch, if present, should be "On".
As you dictate, the flat green line should show spikes as the sounds
arrive. Click the Stop button (black rectangle) after recording for
a few seconds.
- Play back your recording. The sound should be clear with little static
or electronic noise. If no sound was recorded, or is poor quality you
should consider using a USB sound system.
Note: Different versions of Windows® may have slightly
different settings.
Where
are my user files saved in Dragon NaturallySpeaking® 9?
C:\Documents
and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking9\Users
How
do I remove Microsoft Speech from Office XP/Office 2003?
Follow
these steps:
- Click Start | Control Panel and double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the new window scroll to Microsoft Office and select it.
- Click the Change button.
- In the Add/Remove Wizard check Add/Remove Features and click Next.
- In the next window click the + sign next to Office Shared Features.
- Click the + sign against Alternative User Input. There should be a
