What are the PC and notebook system specifications for Dragon NaturallySpeaking®? We recommend a minimum of Pentium 4 processor (or AMD equivalent) of 2.8GHz or above, 1Gb of RAM, an approved Sound Card, and CD-ROM. The Emkay headset will offer the best recognition in most circumstances and can be used with the Buddy USB 3G if the onboard sound system is not adequate. Which sound cards are compatible with Dragon NaturallySpeaking®? Creative® Labs SoundBlaster® Live, Player and Platinum (card only) or the Audigi Player (MP3) are the only cards we recommend although most soundcards will offer adequate recognition. Some built-in sound chips may not suitable, even though they claim to be SoundBlaster® compatible. Must support 11,025Hz mono, 16-bit sound recording. An alternative is a USB sound system. How do I test my soundcard? A simple way to test the sound card, USB system or microphone is to make a CD-Quality recording using the Windows Sound Recorder. If the playback has significant electronic noise, you will not get good recognition with Dragon NaturallySpeaking®.
